A hair and beauty salon has been built at a high school in the UK is part of a new initiative to enable students to study vocational courses alongside traditional subjects.
Over the summer, a classroom at the school was transformed into a fully functioning salon complete with hair scissors, chairs, dryers and the like. .
Thirty students have signed up to study for a qualification program while finishing up their high school requirements.
They have been given uniforms and are being tutored by professional hair stylists and the head of the program says enabling students to learn vocational skills has been popular.
