Is it normal for men to get a haircut with different lengths on their sides?
Since I was a teenager, I’ve had my hairdresser do the following: on the sides/back I have her start out at a 4 guard on the clippers, and then blend it up into a 5… (she then does a scissor-cut on top, but this is inconsequencial to the question).
So is this normal, or do most men get just one length on their sides? Will it look better if I got my entire sides/back trimmed to a 4, or is it natural to do the 4 up to a 5 that I have now?
I certainly won’t take offense to any criticism, so please let me know. Just looking for guidance. (And I know this question is written kind of confusing, so let me know if I need to clarify anything).
yes, like a fade i guess. it starts as a 4 and blends up to a 5 on the clipper. if wondering if it’s more common and stylish to just have one length (i.e. a 4 on the clipper) for the entire sides/back? I’ve had the old style since I was a teen, and seeing if I should change it.
well it all depends on what look you are going for. what exactly do you mean about different lengths on sides? do you mean like a fade?
